Music Video Research

I have been researching different music videos on YouTube so that I could gain ideas of how I want to make my music video. I firstly looked at music video with a beach and summery vibe as this was something I liked.




I like the idea of having a beach and summery theme, however this wouldn't work as I will be filming in the winter during school term which would make it very hard to go to the beach and film. However, I am pleased I looked at these music video theme as I have learnt that I have to take into consideration of the time in the year that  I would be filming in.
I have also decided that I like dance or physical movement in my music video as it is very popular in music video as it works well and is interesting. I also have dancers in mind who could be possibly used.

Here is our preliminary task story board. The song we chose is Diamonds by Rihanna as it is a music video that we can replicate as well as it linking to our final music video genre. We are only taking 30 seconds of the music video as it doesn't have to be long and we chose clips that are doable for our actress.

Rough Ideas

Below I have create a college of images that I have planned to be my 5 main scenes throughout my music video. I have chosen 5 scenes as I believe that is a reasonable amount to use, therefor my video will not be too complicated or busy. The 5 scenes contain: An empty road with a car and lots of colour, a party with 2 main characters standing out, the main girl in white sheets, an empty hallway with just the main characters and then a sunset with the signer smoking in view. My thoughts behind these sets are all with a purpose. The car in the empty road is for the signer to be singing the lyrics that have no meaning. The party is when the lyrics read "I can't reach you even though were in the same room, ten feet away" which shows us that they are in the same room. The girl in the sheets to symbolize when the signer says "I've been missing you, and all the sexy things we do", indicating a flashback to all of the times they spent together. The empt...
